We don't restrict anyone's models on the basis of belief, but they inevitably lead to conflict in the comments. Go do that on Reddit. Expanding on or remixing another user's model is awesome, just don't claim it as your original creation.
There's also a tab at the top of the comments that very clearly shows if a model has been copied. We don't ban for copying models, but be honest. Reporting abuse doesn't automatically do anything, it just sends us an alert.
Reporting someone because you don't like them doesn't do anything. But we can see who does the report. If we can't contact you, we can't send you stuff like shirts and buttons. On the other end, if you're naughty, we have to straight to a ban without warning. The Tinkercad Penguin Team work hard every day to improve Tinkercad and the website so you can make cool stuff. They're working on sweet features like simultaneous modeling, Minecraft builds, and social features. Making them stop all that to work on restrictions and quarantine systems isn't what we want.
Avoid tangents to actual gameplay like the plague. Read everything they can do. Know every spell, skill, advantage, and disadvantage. Know their damage output. Maybe by sharing some of that hard-earned experience I can save a few folks that heartache. I dont turn up though and make your session unpleasant. My games tend to move very fast and there are some people who just cannot keep up with that.
I'd also remove all the templates and replace them with your Standard so they have no option. I think by default if Acad isn't given a specified template it opens the first one it finds your standard.
Message 5 of A lot of your commandments can be handled through the interface and command options you give your users. You can easily force AutoCAD to only start with your template file: your template file will contain all the preferred settings.
Yes, you do have to set it up yourself up front, and yes it is initially a lot of work, but it is a good addition to the training you provide all your users. If they have no choice but your office's way, everything will be as you require it. Especially fixed term contract employees, who like to bring their own "individual" way of creating DWG files. When designating a plotter to a Layout in Page Setup, insure that you use the plotter's server address. Message 6 of I'd make it more "quick reference": 1.
DWT 2. Have you considered pulling the commands you don't want them to use or redefining the commands to pop-up an alert box? It also seems that most of these commandments could be "forced" through custom tools. I worked at a place years ago that created a bristol board heavy card stock template that surrounded the monitor.
It had all the custom commands and plotting tips on it. Currently we use a "drawing checklist" It's a single page that has a bunch of "did you do this? New people and temps have to fill one out for each drawing they submit. After a week or so, they don't have to do it anymore unless their drawings fall apart.
Makes it easier to review their work, too. Message 7 of I might add: - When attaching xrefs, do not save path information. Hard coded pathing is not what we want - Must use and never explode associative dimensions. Use the custom dictionary we have on the server already mapped - Draw to scale.
Keep drawings to scale. I might also point out a few of the basic commands we use for simple tasks, like text and leaders. Message 8 of You can define the template to use in the shortcut used to start the application. That only controls the blank drawing that is there when the drawing opens, and has no effect on what happens if the user intentionally creates a new drawing.
You can, of course, direct each installation to a network path for templates, and then provide only the templates your company has set up - but that just makes administering templates easier - it does not stop people from creating new drawings from scratch.
Short of extensive customization, the only good way to do that is to have good templates, so that people who try them realize that their own lives are easier if they use the templates instead of going it alone. Message 9 of I don't know how it will come out, but here's our checklist Though provided thou art following commandment nine, restarting shall be a relatively painless process. Thou shalt not, under any circumstances, require a restart for simple tweaks like AO or shadow detail.
Yes, we art looking at you , Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. We understand that thou art running a business here. And we get why thou mighteth want to implement some kind of copy protection to keep people from stealing thine product. And yet all the same: Smite the DRM.
Follow their example. The People shall love you for it, and thine games shall live for ever and ever, never rendered unplayable by outdated, non-functional DRM. If thou art making special deals with Nvidia or AMD to use their tech for nifty custom graphics, thou shalt treat those options as a bonus, and make thine first priority getting the game to run well on any card, regardless of brand. For there are some things that PC gamers should be able to take for granted, and the ability to quicksave at any point is one of them.
This, too, is known. If thou art launching a multiplayer-only or multiplayer-centric game, thou shalt test the damned thing first. PC gamers covet betas and are more than happy to freely test out thine game ahead of launch. Thou shalt take advantage of this fact, and while it is understandable that any online launch may hit some snags for a day or two, thou shalt do everything possible to test thine servers ahead of launch and make sure the people who gave you their money ahead of time are able to play the game on the day it cometh out.
