This makes no sense, frankly. What VM software is installed? If you're getting a message about needing a "full" version it means that you're trying to install an upgrade version.

Alright, my version of XP Home Edition must have a problem. No need to do anything else for install. If you do this I will help you with that.

Not true. While Windows 10 is better with compatibility than older versions, there are still programs that either won't install at all or will install but won't run, regardless of compatibility mode. This is especially true of hardware drivers. There is no danger in running XP so long as it's not connected to the web.

I had to replace the BIOS battery and reset the bios to default values. I removed all PCI cards. I tried the memtest floppy: no errors. I tried a different HDD and different optical drive. I rebooted the pc forcefully and booted into normal mode to resume setup. Sometimes the animation continues, sometimes it freezes. Multiple reboots didn't help. Good idea, but sadly no, I don't.
