Project debut setup

You should upgrade or use an alternative browser. Pro-ject Debut set up. MosGorGnoj Standard Member. Hello everyone, I have finally decided to go a bit further than listening to my MP3 player all the time and buy myself a turntable.

My budget is around euros. I have spent countless hours browsing internet for info and opinions and I am thinking in favor of the Project Debut Carbon turntable, however I can't decide if I should better take the Ortofon OM10 Cartridge or the Ortofon 2Mred.

The latter only costs 50 euros more, does anyone know if it is worth it? I hope I didnt I am thinking of the Cambridge pre-amp. One question here though, is there an amplifier that could be used not only with the turntable, but also, the TV set? And finally, I have no clue which speakers should I be looking at to make sure I use all devices to their maximum potential. Could anyone please advise something? Of course, if you have any other suggestions in regards to the pre-amp and amp thing, I'll be glad to check them out.

Thanks guys. BlueWizard Distinguished Member. You only need an external Phono Pre-amp, if your amp doesn't have one. Whether an amp can be used with at TV set depends on the TV. That solves the problem for me and makes connecting the TV and Stereo for movies very easy. The Ortofon OM10 is a different style, and is just a basic cartridge, though it will still work. And if for a complete system, exactly what does that budget include?

Turntable, amp, speakers? CD, Turntable, Amp, Speakers? If you can still find them, the Wharfedale Diamond Check AVBristol. Again, if you can find them, you can get the Diamond Check AVBristol again. Also look at Harman Kardon for high-value high-powered amps and Receivers. Technical Specifications Speed Downloads Manual [pdf]. Product Information [pdf]. Setup Guide [pdf]. Any opinions on the cheap Ortofon one? Post by niels » 08 Nov The Ortofon is fine. Maybe you should contact a dealer regarding the counterweight, you will need that ring.

Post by asymptotic » 08 Nov Thanks Niels. As far as I can tell the Debut II just doesn't have the scale ring. Post by niels » 08 Nov It must, how else do you set tracking force? Its in the manual and in the video, so I would ask a dealer about this. Can you post a picture of the counterweight you have? Fairly sure I've seen pics online of the II and there's just the weight with no scale ring. I think the idea with that model is it was fixed at the factory and you weren't supposed to change the cart.
