Interns provide nursing care under the direct supervision of an RN preceptor. Students who are hired as an intern must enroll in the associated online, one credit course see below. The courses concentrate on the professional nursing role, specifically professional communications that are useful for interns. The grade is dependent on participation and meeting professional standards. Seminars will concentrate on professional communication and additional topics of interest identified by you and other interns. No tests or papers are required. Final placement is determined at the time of job offer and it is based on your preference as well as the hiring manager preference.
Upon successful completion of the LADI training, you would be offered a full time position in one of our six acute care facilities, most likely the facility where you completed your clinical training. Whether or not you successfully complete the LADI training is based off your performance and attendance.
We offer health benefits including medical, dental and vision along with retirement benefits after 30 days. Residents are required to work 36 hours each week, varied schedule. First few weeks are clinical orientation and clinical shifts begin gradually thereafter. Shifts and schedules vary significantly depending on facility but you will be provided with a schedule of the training beforehand.
